Hypocrisy

".. actively preaching or is involved in attempting to codify into law values which directly conflict with the values you hold in the lifestyle, than that seems hypocritical to me..."

My cabin mate on the recent Bliss cruise had a conversation in the hot tub with a group of current and former members of the church of LDS. The discussion was quite interesting as they were comparing experiences, and discussing the exact issues of values.

I guess it depends a bit of what kind of church we're talking about.

If one that is actively preaching or is involved in attempting to codify into law values which directly conflict with the values you hold in the lifestyle, than that seems hypocritical to me.

I have a long term relationships with a couple of 'first lady' hotwives. Discretion is obvious in these instances.

I also remember a friend getting in one last ride on me at a party on a Saturday night, while her husband was tapping his watch at 4 am, reminding her that she has to be ready to teach Sunday school in a few hours. She was and always has been a trooper. ;-). Fun times.

We have met apreachers wife screwing around with a guy not her hubby. Also met and played with couples that go off on missionary trips. Lots of so called Bible thumpers in the LS

Faith and life are complementary and not congruent. We know many in the LS who attend services regularly and among them are 'true believers' in some aspects of their faith, including (for example), the resurrection of Christ. We are a mixed-faith, non-observant couple. We respect their choices and, to our knowledge, they respect ours. The only time we think there is hypocrisy if when there is discordance between what is professed and what is practiced. It's one thing to swing on Saturday night and then attend mass on Sunday and embrace the Holy Trinity. It's quite another to swing on Saturday night and then express hatred for someone because of their sexual orientation not aligning with (your) preferences yet claim charity towards all.

Since religion is just another hobby and people are free to partake in multiple hobbies they are interested in, it seems fine to me and not sure it is hypocritical.

Going to church and being in the lifestyle. a little while back we had a couple over on a Saturday night and they wanted to know if we wanted to go out on the lake with them we told them maybe after church they giggled and laughed. I go to mass every Sunday morning. I wanted to know other peoples thoughts about this?
