Absolutely nothing. A current mugshot would now rival that of a Wookiee or Sasquatch. The novelty has quickly worn off.
Hair Cuts
I had one illegal haircut in my garage since this began and what a joy it was. Normally, I get mine done every 3rd Friday, and due to the thickness of my hair, i like it short and thinned out. It is a lot to hair in a bike helmet right now and it gets much warmer. I will live, i know.
I totally agree on the wasted time for a haircut. Around the DC area, he cheapest you can get is around $17/18 from a barber shop. I think it is well worth it, money and time-wise to get a pair of hair clippers and go at it.
Kathy cut mine, did a great job with some clippers and sharp scissors, now its time for a second cut and hair dye today.. !
As far as waxing our private parts.. we switch off between waxing, shaving with a new blade and always exfoliating first.
I needed a haircut already right when everything shut down. I knew it was obviously going to be a while, so I just buzzed my head with #2 clippers.
Kinda convenient given how much I exercise.
I’ve been cutting my own hair for 38 years. It started as a rebellion against my mother not having steady hands and turned into a perfection after getting countless compliments how smoothly the layers transitioned into one another.
Scissors for the first 25 years, clippers with blending technique for the past 13.

Looks like Kathy will be learning how to cut hair. Might get her to give me a waxing too!
My wife has been cutting my hair for several years now. I need one now and we are just waiting for the trade winds to drop below 20 mph or else the cut hair blows all over the lanai.
I was way overdue a month ago, so we borrowed the neighbor's clippers and my wife cut mine. Not all that different than what I was paying $12 to have done and she will obviously only get better with practice.
We since bought what seems to be a good, well recommended set of clippers from Amazon (Wahl-Sterling 4) and she will probably hit me again this week. I suspect this will be the new norm.
It is not the $12 for me, it is the time wasted driving to the barber shop, often waiting my turn for others, etc. Walking out into the garage naked, her doing the buzz, buzz, buzz thing, then walking back in to take a shower was maybe a 15 minute deal. WIN!
My barber, who is a super good guy, will probably lose me as a customer through no fault of his own and I suspect I am not the only one with this mindset.
Sadly barbers (and a lot of other small businesses) will suffer as people have been forced to learn alternatives, that quite frankly are not bad alternatives, and maybe sometimes better.
I don't need to cut my hair.....
My daughter-in-law is a hair dresser and she cuts my hair. They reopen Friday. I may be her first customer.
What is everyone doing about haircuts with all barber shops close? I am starting to look like a Neanderthal here!
