Had enough heat yet?

It's been a pleasantly cool summer so far here in Eastern WA as well. Only aout 5 days that made it into the eighties. Even on the Wet side the other day after that 58 degree rain it was a pleasant evening.

I personally would be fine with highs in the eighties and lower nineties this summer with no forest fires for a change. Knock on wood.

I play baseball most weekends. Normally we dont play June-August. Not because if the heat, but the thunderstorms.

But we are back in, sort of. I'm well-acclimated to the weather here and I can pitch a 9 inning game in Florida in July.

But i feel like I'm freezing to death in anything below 75 degrees...

Just for the fun of it I have 2 other places in the world that I watch the weather. Makes me feel better about northwest Ohio weather.

In the summer I watch a place in India called 22JRK. Gets hotter than hell there for months on end.

In the winter I watch a town in Russia called Omyakon. May as well be in a tub of liquid nitrogen.

I'm a spring fall guy. 45-75 degrees. I work in it all the time so I guess it makes sense.

HFT- I think Antler, ND would suit you better. Craig Cobb wanted to have the town renamed "Trump". Maybe you could house sit for him.

I lived in San Diego for 3 years. Weather was usually pretty nice, but I thought it did seem to rain a lot in the winter, but still better than snow

Here in Colorado, Thursday 96, Friday 100. I water plants every morning for an hour, 5 PM I do the Tomato and Pepper pots again. Wife is always cold, I tell her put on a coat. She lived in Glendale, AZ, 114 and she was cold. Me, I love the cold & snow. Given a choice of 10 or 90, I'll take 10. I want to spend one winter in Fargo or International Falls. ANY INVITATIONS? HOUSE SIT? Wife can go to AZ, for the winter.

My recollection of desert heat of 105+ was a breeze made it feel hotter. I forget how hot it was exactly, but the breeze didn't seem to help.

But that's just me.

I have a friend who lives in San Diego. One winter I sent him a photo of my thermometer reading -30F. He immediately reciprocated with a picture of a lizard sunbathing by his pool- a bottle of beer next to it. He used the -30F photo in some class he was teaching.

Fugger always rubs it in about the beautious weather- never too hot unless you go inland. Seldom rains; the sun is always shining...

The thing is, every time we visit him, it rains. I think people in San Diego lie about the weather.

I used to live in East County San Diego, and it could easily get up to 110 only 20 miles from the coast.

But we are right on the water. It is 73 right now.

Oh and we went to San Diego in August. Went to the zoo and it was maybe 84, not humid. Gorgeous day.

Everyone and their mother was bitching about how hot it was. Even the tram driver at the zoo.

It just serves as proof that - if people in San Diego complain about their weather, EVERYONE complains about the weather.

I've been to the southwest in the summer. Las Vegas 114... San Bernardino 118 once. Bullhead City AZ 116...

While certainly hot, it's much more comfortable than 96 is here. The wind brings relief - you can feel the water flying off your skin. Here it's more like air from an oven that has a turkey roasting in it.

It's about 80 here on the water.

Never gets too humid in San Diego.

Out here, I am OK until it gets about 105. Over that I find it uncomfortable.

"All you have to do is ask."

Well then. Consider this an ask. ;-)

In Tucson, once it starts breaking 90, outdoor work starts around 6am and stops by 2 and pretty much everywhere you go, people hand you water.

Montpelier, OH, Us

@az - camping in super hot weather isn't much fun. We only go to nude campgrounds and still don't go when it's crazy hot. Not much fun when you're just sitting in the ac.

We're replacing a fairly big galvanized roof on a warehouse. Got about 10,000 sq feet to go. It's not like walking on a mirror but seems close to it. It's a weird feeling having the bottoms of your nose and earlobes sunburned.

Windermere, FL, Us

Most of the summer here, it's 90 something and high humidity. Heat index is usually 100-115.

Right now it's actually hotter where I used to live in Ottawa, Ontario (95) than here (90). Tonorrow there will be hotter still (97).

I would do all outside summer work after 7.

I've been helping my dad with outside projects around his house the last couple of weeks, temps in the 90s or more. Mostly because his wife doesn't want him getting up on a ladder (Dad's 80 yrs old). We're taking small breaks about every 30 min, and that seems to work out.

Fort Payne, AL, Us

Take more breaks than you think you need, drink lots of water and be very careful on the ladder - roof projects are dangerous.

@ GGMM Sounds like you're wet and need someone to heat things up a bit.

All you have to do is ask.

Was planing on going camping in the high country where it is 20 degrees cooler. Unfortunately, prediction for this weekend is 117 here in Phoenix, so near 100 in the mountains. No thanks.

Phoenix, AZ, Us

Uh, no, summer hasn't arrived in the Pacific Northwest and it's currently 58 degrees and raining.

Montpelier, OH, Us

Rk- Not us.. we love hot, humid weather all year..

Ya my wife has the same brain damage as you. Lol
