@mayhem: what do you expect from Barry Hussain Obama... his boyfriend Mike probably wrote it, lmao
EVs the fight continues
The could have gone in Recent Movies as well, but we watched an apocalyptical movie on Netflix called "Leaving the world behind". It was a weird movie about a cyberattack but one of the interesting things was that the hackers used the self driving mode of Teslas to drive/crash them on major roadways to clog them.
We,re going to do RT.66, ----END TO END this summer.......what are my chances of a comfortable no hassel trip in an EV??????
I came across something about that lithium operation. Seems there's a lot of controversy about lithium mines due to the enormous amount of water they will require. There are many possible locations for such mines that would take an enormous amount of water from the already depleted Colorado River.
From that report, there was discussion about areas where deposits of lithium were promising for the mining of it. I saw that land that I have mineral rights on is in one of those areas. Currently there's oil production occurring there. The income I receive from it is kind of a nice retirement income bonus. JW if it's possible to have both oil production and lithium mining on the same land.
ICE or EV- it's possible that either way the fight turns out, I win.
Maybe, they decided to not pursue the uranium.
I <3 geologists.
" Saw an article that said, EVs tear through tires at twi e the rate.??"
I read 20% faster. Due to battery weight.
AGAIN,,,8INCH,,,PLEASE,p;ease,please, buy an EV.....please.....i want to see you suffer that ownership,,,,,,
Pawns in the game. Neither oil companies or Fox is paying you. Yet you do their bidding for free.
They dog whistle and their viewers come running. Grown ppl being trained on what to hate, like and/or promote. You guys will probably be bitching about gas stoves and global warming next week.
Ford just stopped all EV Production....
Saw an article that said, EVs tear through tires at twi e the rate.??
Good news
Controlled Thermal Resources is breaking ground on a lithium extraction plant near the Salton Sea in southeast California.
It is estimated that the lithium in the Salton Sea would be enough for 382 million batteries...
Don,t think I w a nt to live like that!!!
FF - From what I've seen, range can degrade if it's too hot or too cold. The ideal range happens to be what we would feel comfortable in, and if it gets 95F or higher, that can be bad too.
EVs AFAIK get heating and cooling from a heat pump, and this is also used to maintaiin battery temp. Using it for either will impact range. Heat from an ICE vehicle is basically free, but AC will also dimish range somewhat.
Is heat equally as bad for the EVs?
When we went on a road trip to Alaska every parking spot had a place to plug in your vehicle. I guess it doesn't take long for the motor to cool off when it is minus 40 degrees. Even a trip to the grocery store you would need to plug in.
I didn,t understand the term, cats ass, whether ir meant good or bad......i,m very familiar w engine block heaters...I used to drive heavy equip back the day....
"Block heaters are the cats ass! Takes half the time for your vehicle to warm up on those 0 degree nights. Plus they just start SOOO much better."
Been a way of live forever, up here in the Nort Land.
When I moved to Florida in January of 1983, I drove my Minnesota car there, so naturally it had an engine heater.
One night, my buddies and I went to the Palm Beach Kennel Club, to bet on the Greyhounds. The Parking Kid that lined me up with a parking spot saw the cord sticking out of the grill, and asked me "Y'all got yerself an electric car there?" Me "Yep." The kid "How does that work?" Me "Pretty good, except sometimes it can be a bitch trying to store all the extension cord you need for long trips. "
The look that went across his face was absolutely priceless.
Yeah what truck guy wants some sissy electric tonka truck
Ford will shut down one of two production shifts in April at the Dearborn, Michigan, factory that builds the F-150 Lightning electric pickup. The move is part of “matching F-150 Lightning production to customer demand,” the company said Friday.
Is the cats ass , good or bad?...
Block heaters are the cats ass! Takes half the time for your vehicle to warm up on those 0 degree nights. Plus they just start SOOO much better.
HINT: They are not nearly as effective if you forget to plug them in.
HEY! Something we agree on! EV's suck!
Ford is discontinuing all EV trucks due to low sales...
The EVs are just a vehicle for a person who has some extra money and wants a toy . Everyone I know who has a Tesla also has an ICE vehicle.
I'll keep my twin turbo ICE, y'all do what you want.
"What about in 15 years? If the "self imposed" deadlines by manufacturers are met, ICE will be a rare thing on the market, even used."
Just to clarify, it's a goal rather than a deadline to phase out ICE by 2035. Anyone want to bet even a penny that the goal is met?
