My male menopause happened in my early 40's. Reading HEMMING'S MOTOR NEWS ads. I was looking for another 1962 Corvette. At 45 I found one only 25 miles away. The Guy was a retired body shop owner and restored cars for fun. He had a out building shop so clean and organized. He rolled the car cover off the 1962 Fuel Injected Maroon & Black Interior. It was a perfect frame off restoration. He wanted $30,000, I bought it. At 45 yo, that was my male menopause. I am looking for another 1962 Corvette because I am still in male menopause.
Male menopause
Got mine at 50+ years lasted a few months. Thought I was going crazy. Maybe I did.
MNJFLA I have experienced many of the same as you describe. It was more so a couple of years ago. Good now!
Male menopause id very real. I had it sweats, night sweats, jittery it is very real.
@Onehornywife - Male half here. I'm post implant 30 hours. Wow. It's a bit more invasive/traumatic than I thought it was going to be. Sore AF right now. But I've heard many people say the temporary discomfort is well worth it. And this is from someone that's been on T replacement for 16 years. The first half with the painless (and by far the least effective and most hassle) for treatment of Androgel. The last 6 with injections every 14 days. The injections were effective but only lasted the 2 weeks. And given that the oil is synthetic, it has less desirable side effects like enlarged prostate. Will report back in 2 weeks on initial effects.
Probably, its said mens testosterone start drop little by little when they get close to age 30 on average
There is a fix for women also. They can get estrogen and some T in the form of pellets injected every 3/4 months. Hold on guys when it kicks in. Made my honey like a nympho. Not complaining by any means!
You know I just realized this is the biggest double standard out there. I mean seriously let a woman hit menopause and it is normal and natural. There are meds to help deal with the symptoms but only if they are out of the ordinary. Let a guy have some erectile dysfunction, lower sex drive, or stop feeling as virulent as he once was and there are creams, pills, shots, etc to bring you back to feeling young again. Heck even in my response I said talk to a doctor. It seems to me folks have forgotten around the same time women no longer can bear children men tend to develop a lower sex drive and even an inability to have sex. Ever think that there is nothing "wrong" with a man when this happens and it is just the way nature designed us?
BTW I'm not saying if it makes you feel better to not see a doctor and get the drug cocktail and in fact I am happy we can because it means if our partners still desire sex even without the reproductive aspect we can still deliver. That said there is nothing wrong with a man this happens to just like there is nothing wrong with a woman who looses her desire due to menopause.
Get your testosterone level checked. i was telling one Dr. I went to I was always feeling run down etc. He just said I was getting older. Went to another Dr. and first thing he did was sent me for blood work. LOW T. Been doing shots now for a few years and feeling much better.
Never heard of a guy getting hot flashes. The rest well is normal as we age. It can start in our 40's-mid 50's just like menopause for a woman. Of course sometimes earlier in life or later. Basically it is nature's way of slowing us down when the women are also doing the same. For us men it is usually nothing like what women go through and if it were I don't think a man would survive it. There are things such as testosterone boosters and pills to keep us men going and they can work wonders with just one pill, eventually even get things back to what we perceive as normal once we get the chemical cocktail right, or fail miserably no matter what we try. As far as what you should do that is up to you and your doctor to decide. There could be any number of factors to consider when "treating" this including underlying conditions (face it most of us in our late 40's to 50's have something chronic) and medications (diabetic and BP are the worst) adding to what is naturally happening. I would suggest you not fall for the OTC stuff because much like many other things they work but only to separate you from your money. Of course in some cases I think it gives some guys a "mental" boost which is perhaps more the issue than physical.
Is there such a thing as Male Menopause? Hot sweats at night, lose of sex interests, feeling in the dumps? What is a cure that works?
