One of the most unfortunate lies we are often told in our youth is that we can be or achieve absolutely anything as long as we believe and work hard enough.

That simply is not the truth.

The general encouragement is good, but the hard truth is:

If you’re colorblind, you can’t be a military pilot,

If you’re 4’ 8”, you’ll never be an NBA player,

That list goes on and on, but the point I’m getting at is that there is a clear and distinct inverse relationship between our age and our swinging opportunities. It’s just a fact of life.

My learning curve seems to be vertical. Never did it dawn on me that there would be a problem in getting back into the swinging life. As a male, as a senior when you view age ranges for people and couples seldom, seldom ever does the Seventy something word appear. Come on, does the world stop at 70 or higher we no longer able to nor want to, God forbid, have SEX. Did our sex drive get moved into park or is it that we no longer linger we can only finger. Looking for a 70 something woman to be my companion at least then we could go together. Now if i were to show up single, ancient as i am, there would probably be a deafening silence when i walked in. My oh my how things can change. Look at my profile, look at my pictures the grave will be waiting a long time for me. In the meantime, because there is so little time left for me, i better get out there and enjoy.
