Meaning of Select Single Men

Could also simply be a euphemism for "We rarely play with single men, so don't get your hopes up."

Seems simple to us. It means that they are selective in their choices.

Not everyone is going to meet their preferences. What those preferences might be are different for different folks.

You're probably selective with the people you want to meet, too.

When they put "Select Single Men" in socials listing on here, does that mean single men who do not look like a movie star should not bother trying, or does it mean they are going to get thousands of Neanderthals trying to get in and they are trying to scare them away and an average guy has at least one chance in hell of getting in?
I'm just wondering if it is a waste of time for me to even try.
