OP: There are tons of people who wear black rings for reasons other than swinging. The topic has been covered and there really isn't a sign. If there is a couple there looking to pick up a single man then that's what they will do. If you try approaching couples it could go badly for you. The "picking up a guy at the bar" fantasy isn't too terribly uncommon. However, keep in mind there are not too many people by percentage of restaurant, casino, or bar goers who do it. Your odds are terribly low. Personally, I have had too many duds picking up guys in public and prefer to go through normal swinging channels for dates.

Now back on topic: if the couple is there looking to swing then most of the time the husband is watching in the wings while his wife is flirting. So, if you actually see a couple sitting together and the lady then begins to move about flirting as she goes then you most likely have spotted what you are looking for. This is the important part: if you approach her do it like you would any other lady you would ask out on a date. This is because that is exactly what you would be doing. Be polite and don't assume that she will sleep with anything with a pulse. Don't linger if there is no chemistry and watch for signals to move on if they are given.

Your odds are much better in normal swinging channels. Find a local club or party and get out to meet people. If you are married, then make sure your wife is on board with what you want to do.
