rare to the point of being almost mythical) hunting is almost always a futile effort. The harder you push in your search, the more you chase them off.

The best you can do is create a welcoming environment and hope one comes to you.

I go to a swing club about once a month, for a couple years before the 'rona. The number of times I have seen a single female show up looking to meet a couple can be counted on the thumbs of one hand... yeah, once.

House parties, maybe, but I suspect some of those are paid to attend by the host.

It may not much matter how much time one spends in this search. After a few months or hours, you may become discouraged. It's always possible to run upon someone who happens to be in a similar mood. And you should be in good humor when you get lucky.
