Central PA swirl?

While I was surprised to find quite a bit of sidle guy phobia among couples, I was astounded by the phobia among single women. Particularly among women of color. I never had difficulty meeting women of other races in more urbane areas of the country, but this area seems a desert of minority folks. Thoughts on how to break through?
